Rising Slowly

The rise of the river seems to have slowed some. Maybe it's because it's spreading out more? The flood committee met today and everything is going OK. The National Guard is helping with the dike patrols and local residents have been coming in to volunteer. We haven't had any trouble filling the time slots.

The "High Water Cafe" is doing well. They have some sign-up sheets there for people who want to bring something to help with meals. Goodies are always welcome.

The National Guard has also been busy at the border erecting a dike around the buildings there. I'll try to get some pictures of that too.

The high school students went out to fill sandbags today at the Alvin Warner farm place. Warner family and friends are building the sandbag dike.

FEMA brought two generators to town this afternoon in case we need them. One was placed near the lift station by Walker's and the other was put by the Fire Hall.

Looking south from the Pembina River bridge. The ice covered river carries a lot of debris along with it.
